Beyond the Thinking of the World
“Yet if God gave an answer there must be a way in which your problems are resolved, for what He wills already has been done. Thus it must be that time is not involved and every problem can be answered now. Yet it must also be that, in your state of mind, solution is impossible.”
These statements from the Quiet Answer section of Chapter 27 of the text describes the apparent dilemma of Course students who have not accepted the healing solution of the Holy Instant. Insofar as I hold onto my separated perception of the world I am not accepting forgiveness of all error now. I am always choosing one or the other.
In order to experience the peace of God we must let go, in each instant, the way we see things from our view point. This is to let go of conflict, a sense of separate interests and our own judgments of error. This section most beautifully and very plainly tells us the Holy Instant is the only time and place in which God’s answer can be accepted. That place or state of Mind is by definition outside or prior to the thinking of the world.
So, to paraphrase Jesus, our one assignment can be stated thus: accept no judgement in which wordly ideas pays a part.
And what judgment could that be? Only the wholly unifying forgiveness of The Holy Spirit. His Correction is the only one that is wholly benign because there is no taint of specialness and preferences in it. In all honesty, can we say the same for the way in which we see things?
