Doubt
Jesus teaches in the characteristics of God’s teachers section of the Manual that trust is the foundational characteristic upon which all the others are built. The ego has a foundational characteristic too, a characteristic that is but an aspect of its one emotion: fear. And that is doubt.
Doubt would render everything null and void. It would doubt you, your brother and the truth. Yet a very wise teacher I have known said doubt is thought. Whatever the doubt is it is only a thought. The Holy Spirit is the organizer of our thoughts, so doubt is to be brought to Spirit just as any other thought. In the instant of bringing it to Spirit where is doubt? Ahhh! We are back to the simplicity of the Holy Instant, the eternal NOW.
Always it is only our own thinking that is picturing the world we see. Bringing doubt to Spirit is the action and the very decision for trust.
