Stress
Stress arises when we endeavor to use form as a means to arrive at content. Events and circumstances are used to arrive at a condition that we deem is better than what is the case now. Stress can only occur when we are in an action of becoming.
Freedom from stress always involves a sinking into being which is prior to whatever appears to be the case in form. We have given ourselves permission to let go. The trick of the ego is to say we need a specific conditions or forms to let go. Friday night, the weekends, holidays and our favorite addictions are common ones.
Jesus teaches us our peace can only come when we learn to accept and sink into our being as God created it. That is the only content in truth and it is what we are all searching for whether we realize it or not. I can choose to be entirely peaceful now. Form and the constant flux of form will continue to be the case. But in choosing the purpose of peace as my only goal I have at last, so to speak, put the horse before the cart. Seek first the kingdom of God and all else shall fall into proper perspective.
In order to experience this peace consistently we need to abdicate our presumed roles of controllers and judges of the universe. Until we do so we will always be resisting our true identity as God created. This non-alignement with the truth of being is itself stressful. Stress is stressful and from this place we can only use the weapons of control and judgement in order to find some semblance of balance again.
We need Love. It is our very nature. So we cannot bear being cut off from it. Let us cooperate with Christ by giving up our presumptions and the need to be right. Love awaits our simple letting go.
