0104 – What’s in a name

We wish to convey our thanks to Peter Iwaniuk for sponsorship of this newsletter.
I can well remember receiving a phone call from Peter, a few years ago now, when he was inquiring about Course related books and materials, and particularly Ken Wapnick’s workshop tape sets. We must have spoken for a considerable time on the Course and it was obvious this material meant a very great deal to Peter. We actually arranged to meet that very afternoon at his office, as he was so keen to talk Course.
I was somewhat surprised when I arrived at one of Peter’s Discotheque/TableTop Dancing Clubs in the city. When I entered his office, I was even more surprised to see written up on a white board “The Laws of Chaos” (T23.II) and “The Obstacles to Peace” (T19.IV). This was no ‘ordinary’ Course student! What a fascinating and meaningful discussion it turned out to be! He basically dropped everything to talk Course. His order for Ken’s tapes was certainly the biggest ever and to this day I would not dare to fail to let him know of any new sets, as they become available. There is no doubt about Peter’s approach to running his numerous clubs as being based fundamentally on forgiveness and on not taking things too seriously. It works.
Having been involved with Peter’s organisation in matter’s to do with restaurants, setting up kitchens and quality auditing, I have frequently been asked over the years by many of his employees from security personnel to bar staff, “Have you heard of A Course in Miracles?”
Peter has become a most valued fellow Course student and friend. Can’t say I’ve ever met a more forgiving person than Peter. — GW
